What a beautiful way to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday and my daughter’s 35th. The grandchildren said they wish they could stay for ever. So do we all. The properties are just perfect in every detail. A most joyous and delightful experience.

What an amazing time! I am so unbelievably gutted that it is time for us to go home but there’s a 100% chance we will come back in the future. I booked this cottage to surprise Sam’s for his birthday to relax and enjoy our time together with our big dog and that is exactly what we have done the past few days. We ventured out and explored Barmouth and also explored a couple of National Trusts in the area. We must admit our most favourite part of our holiday was to come back and relax in front of the log burner. The cottage was also perfect for our dog Odin as ran free down at the paddock. This holiday was just absolutely perfect. We do hope to return one day. Thank you for your generosity and welcoming atmosphere.

We had a really lovely stay at Ty Trol, the cottage is so cosy and comfortable, we will definitely be back at some point -hopefully in the summer so we can enjoy sunbathing in the paddock. Our two dogs Fred and Hank had the time of their lives adventuring with us but also settling down in the evenings in front of the log burner. We would recommend the Torrent walk for great scenery but not too strenuous activity. Barmouth beach for the dogs to have a good run and great views from the welsh flag at the top. And if you fancy a go at mountaineering the circular walk at Craig Lwyd, Craig Cwm Amarch and Cadair Idris. This was so much harder than we expected, would recommend not doing this on the first day as we were aching for the rest of our stay!! Thank you for a lovely stay! We look forward to visiting again soon!

Travelling here from Manchester and driving into a snow covered wonderland set the tone for beauty of our stay here. Such a cosy place that suited us perfectly. We love cooking and being able to share our company. Ruth cooked and I sat chatting to her from in front of the fire whilst reading some fascinating welsh history from one of the books provided. The maps including the one commissioned for the cottage itself as the epicentre of the map, were a useful and welcome touch. The Precipice walk followed by a pint in the cellar bar in Dolgellau was a perfect afternoons leisure. The drive to Barmouth in the driving rain was a joy (no really) and ended with a visit to the, who knew? fine dining restaurant The Fanny Talbot. Amazing place, service and food… with an excellent wine list. Worth coming back for the £70pp 7 course tasting menu! We found a part of Wales here to take home in our hearts. Thanks so much for your hospitality and friendliness Robbie and Richard.

What a pleasure it has been staying here at one of the most stunning cottages we’ve been to. It has been a wonderful treat to ourselves and the perfect prelude to Christmas 2025. The house has kept us warm, we’ve made wonderful memories and have enjoyed the essence that this cottage brings.

Thank you SO much, the most perfect cottage, incredible gardens. We absolutely loved our stay here. We relaxed in the most cosy beautiful place all facilitated by the perfect hosts. We adore this house and land you have. What a special treat you have here. Thank you for sharing it with us and the home made cake!! Delicious! What a fantastic place to stay! Really enjoyed the area and felt very relaxed by the end of 5 days. Robbie and Rich have thought of everything that you need to feel comfortable in their holiday cottage.

We came to Wales to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We triumphed in climbing Yr Wyddfa, although the view from the top was very cloudy. We ate lots of great food and formed memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home. The beds were so comfy and the lounge was so cosy. We really loved the barn where one of the world’s best Jenga games was played. Hopefully this won’t be our last time here. Thank you again, we all had the best time.

The pictures can’t capture the magic of this place. We’ve just had the most beautiful peaceful stay in Ty Trol and already can’t wait to come back. With all the necessities and comforts of home then the additional thoughtful little touches like fresh eggs, fresh flowers and the world’s softest Victoria sponge ready and waiting when you check in.

Wonderful stay at Ty Trol, the cottage and surrounding area is beautiful. The kids really enjoyed the games room and we loved seeing the gardens and chickens. How wonderful it was to have fresh eggs each morning and feel the warmth from the real wood fire each night. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, the victoria sponge was one of the nicest cakes we have had and such a lovely touch made us feel so special. We would love to come back again soon and explore the area more.

Another fantastic stay at Ty Neuadd. Everything is provided and so much thought has obviously gone into the cottage. Love the paddock! Hopefully be back again in the future. Thanks so much.

The cottage is beautiful. It was a lovely welcome to come into tea, coffee, milk in the fridge, fresh flowers and yummy cake. Myself and our family all loved our stay. Our daughter kept saying it was our house because it felt so homely and welcoming. We only have 1 gripe that we didn’t stay for longer. We will definitely stay again.

We fell in love with the house and it’s surroundings immediately. Our stay was far too short-we hope to come back one day! Hiking on Cadair Idris (including a swim in that beautiful lake), some smaller walks and lots of table tennis and air hockey – we had a very relaxing time. Very comfortable beds and such a beautifully restored house made us feel very relaxed inside as well. Thank you very much for that experience!

What a beautiful house! You really have thought of everything. You were so friendly when we met you and also very kindly let our family (the rest of us) – who were staying nearby – drop in to hang out with us in the barn and play games in the paddock. Thank you for keeping such a special slice of Wales so carefully curated and lovingly tended. We will be back!

Our second stay in this wonderful cottage, we hit the jackpot with the weather this week. Here are some ideas of those who come after us: Coed y Brenin for excellent cycle and walking trails. Barmouth for the beach, the Mawddach trail and some great walks – try the longer panorama walk up into the hills, or take the ferry to Fairbourne railway station, walk along the spit, across the footpath and back to Barmouth over the bridge. The Torrent walk and Foel Caernwych are well signposted walks reachable on foot from here. The latter is a decent climb but worth it for the views. Cemetery beach for swimming and walking and general amusements then onto Aberdyfi for fish and chips. Hopefully seen you again soon.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Ty Trol. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful cottage. Our golden retriever, Link, particularly enjoyed the paddock, stream and two friendly horses at the back of Gwanas Fawr. We recommend the Llyn Idwal circular walk – amazing views of the Glyderau mountain range and beautiful clear water that Link loved to swim in. We also enjoyed Harlech beach and castle also. Thank you for the wonderful eggs and delicious cake which came as a welcome surprise as it was my birthday during our stay. We loved our time at Ty Trol and would love to come back.

Thank you for a beautiful stay, the attention to the smallest of details makes a big impression. The cottage is magical and we can’t wait to return again. We went up to the lake on Cader Idris while we were here, a fantastic walk and views that felt like a movie.

A lovely, interesting house that was a delight to stay in. Fabulously situated for Cader Idris and especially for any “The Owl Service” fans. Dog friendly, responsive hosts who made us feel welcome on arrival, with a cake and free range eggs.

Robbie and Richard truly excel as hosts! They have every reason to be proud of their stunning property, which boasts a picturesque stream just a stone’s throw away and a lovely walking path that invites exploration. We were welcomed by a charming flock of sheep nearby—talk about adorable companions! The cottage itself is a haven of comfort, equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay. I can’t recommend this place highly enough; it’s an easy five-star experience! Thank you for an unforgettable getaway!

Thank you for the wonderful stay! It was the first time in this cottage and our second time here. We loved the piano and the very friendly cat! Me my brother and cousin (who was in the other cottage with our grandparents) all loved the long barn. We adored going to the beach with our dogs, sadly the honey ice cream was not open. We all look forward to our next stay.
